Trash and Recycling
More and more of our neighbors find inspiration to renovate or redecorate their homes. It is important that everyone follows proper guidelines for trash pickup. Otherwise, it creates unwanted issues through the community. Improper disposal of trash remains a costly and dangerous problem.
Boards should remind your residents of proper procedures for disposal of all varieties of trash in the shared containers. The Annual Membership Meeting is a great time to discuss with all residents the proper procedures for trash disposal, including bulk, glass, construction debris, and discarding furniture.
Improperly placed items or oversized amounts will be left behind. The result of improper disposal will result in additional charges to the Association. It is less expensive to do it right the first time. We will continue to help the associations monitor these issues for resolution.

Recently, we have been seeing improper placement of bulk trash in many sections of your Community. To address these issues, and to help improve the appearance of your Community, the following guidelines are offered:
Bulk trash - Bulk items include refrigerators, ranges, toilets, water softeners. pianos, washers, dryers, bathtubs, water heaters, sinks, bicycles, and other similar domestic appliances, household goods and furniture. Each unit is limited to putting out three large bulk items, or two cubic yards of bulk trash, each week.
Household trash and small items such as vacuum cleaners, folding chairs, toilet seats, small appliances, etc. must be placed in your dumpster. All glass items must be placed into the dumpster, or in sealed boxes or bags.
Large bulk itms (furniture and appliances) should be placed on either side of the dumpster (or dumpster enclosure) and not in front of or in the back of the dumpster. The hauler will not be responsible to collect items placed behind any dumpster, or to empty bulk material blocks its access. Large bulk items should be placed oiut the day before the regular weekly bulk collection day (Friday), and not earlier.
Construction & Demolition (C&D) Material - These items include, but are not limited to, roofing material, pipe, gypsum wallboard, tile, lumber and cabinetry. Collection of construction debris is not provided as part of your regular service and at no time should it be placed into or near the dumpsters. Filling a dumpster with this material, or leaving it near dumpsters, leaves your neighbors with no place to put their normal household garbage, and is very unsightly. If you hire a contractor to remodel or repair your home, please tell them to include the cost of removing this material from site as part of their service. If you perform the work yourself, all material must be disposed of at the SWA landfill, 6330 North Jog Rd, West Palm Beach (or other permitted facility). The disposal cost at the landfill is $45.00 per ton.
