Different credentials serve different purposes
| Access item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Resident identification | Identifies the resident; UCO lists resident ID cards as a WPRF service. |
| Vehicle barcode | Vehicle access credential obtained through UCO’s barcode service. |
| Guest authorization | Notifies the gate of an expected visitor through the approved system. |
| Gate pass | A separate access arrangement; ask UCO about current eligibility and procedure. |
Clear arrangements. Smoother arrivals.
Online guest authorization through GateAccess.net
UCO’s published 2024 guest-policy notice identifies GateAccess.net as the system used by residents to maintain guest lists. Obtain the current Century Village setup instructions and credentials from the appropriate community office; do not guess a community code or use another resident’s account.
A practical guest-list workflow
The following describes the general task, not a verified walkthrough of the current login interface:
- Confirm your account. Ask the office how to activate or recover access and which community entry to select.
- Enter the expected visitor accurately. Use a name that matches the identification the visitor will present and provide the information the system requests.
- Select an appropriate authorization. Confirm the available dates, duration, and guest category under current policy.
- Check the saved entry. Ensure the request was accepted; tell the visitor the host’s name and subdivision, building, and unit.
- Keep the list current. Remove obsolete authorizations and review continuing access periodically.
Permanent guests are not unlimited
The 2024 UCO notice announced a six-person permanent guest-list limit effective July 1, 2024 and directed residents needing guest-list help to the Clubhouse ID Office. Confirm current limits and assistance arrangements before relying on that historical notice.
For residents without internet, ask UCO or the ID Office about the current telephone or in-person alternative. Obtain instructions directly rather than relying on an old call-in number or validity period.
Vehicle barcodes: use UCO’s current instructions
UCO’s resource page directs residents to bring a Century Village ID and current vehicle registration, both in the same name, to the UCO office. Its published barcode charge is $10 cash for a new or replacement sticker; updates are free.
Check current hours, eligibility, documentation, and vehicle-specific requirements before visiting. Ask UCO how to handle a changed vehicle, damaged sticker, or other unusual situation.

What should the association board do?
Suggested board practices:
- Include official access instructions in the new-resident welcome packet.
- Distinguish association occupancy decisions from gate administration and WPRF identification services.
- Help residents find the proper office without collecting their login credentials.
- Coordinate anticipated contractor visits through the approved community procedure.
- Refer disputed access, occupant status, or requests to restrict entry to the appropriate administrator and counsel.
Recommended boundary: do not improvise gate restrictions to pressure someone over a fine, debt, or occupancy dispute. Ask UCO to confirm its current operational entry procedures, the information used by authorized gate personnel, and the proper route for clarifying an entry problem. Have association counsel evaluate disputed access or possession rights and any proposed enforcement action. This page does not determine whether a particular person may lawfully be admitted or excluded.
Guide residents. Respect responsibilities.
Protect access information and follow gate directions
Suggested precautions: keep passwords private, use the official site, and verify unexpected messages before entering credentials. Authorize only people you intend to receive; a broad permanent list deserves periodic review.
Visitors should use the lane and identification procedure directed by security. Do not follow another vehicle through a controlled gate or attempt to bypass a denied entry. If an authorization cannot be located, ask the host and authorized gate staff to clarify the operational issue through UCO’s current procedure. Refer an unresolved claim about access or possession rights to counsel; do not try to settle it by bypassing the gate.
For an active emergency, call 911 and give the exact location. Do not delay seeking emergency help while trying to arrange routine guest entry.

Give residents a clear route for access problems
Record the type of credential or authorization involved, the office contacted, the reported problem, and the next step. Help the resident reach the administrator without collecting passwords or unnecessary identification copies.
- Separate guest authorization, vehicle barcodes, resident IDs, and occupancy approval.
- Confirm the current office and instructions for the particular issue.
- Ask the host and authorized gate staff to clarify a missing authorization through UCO’s procedure.
- For a disputed denial, record what was reported separately from what was verified. Ask UCO to explain the operational reason and instructions relied upon; have counsel assess disputed legal rights.
- Update welcome materials when official procedures change.
Gate access does not by itself grant a parking right, certify a contractor, or establish occupancy approval. Keep a factual record without publicly identifying a resident or declaring an individual exclusion lawful or unlawful. This general guide does not decide any particular gate incident. Urgent emergency reporting should never wait for routine guest-list administration.
