A longstanding part of village life
Jewish residents and congregations have been part of Century Village West Palm Beach’s history for decades. Aitz Chaim’s own historical account traces its beginnings to residents gathering for services in homes and later using clubhouse space before establishing its synagogue on Haverhill Road in 1986.
Today, nearby congregations and regional organizations offer several ways to connect. Jewish community life can include religious observance, cultural interests, volunteering, and friendships. Each resident chooses the forms of participation that are meaningful to them.
Century Village is home to people of many backgrounds. This guide introduces Jewish resources within that broader community; it does not imply a religious requirement for living here.

The Century Village eruv
The West Palm Beach–Century Village eruv website provides status updates, a boundary map, and rabbinical certification. Residents who rely on an eruv should check the latest report and confirm the relevant boundaries with their religious adviser.
An eruv’s existence does not establish that every location or route is covered, or that its status remains the same each week.

Main Clubhouse guideA simple way to get connected
- Start with your interests. Choose worship, learning, culture, social activities, or volunteering.
- Contact one organization. Explain whether you are a resident, seasonal visitor, or prospective buyer, and ask how to begin.
- Plan a visit. Confirm the event, cost, access arrangements, and transportation.
- Build relationships. Attend again, meet a neighbor, and ask about opportunities to participate or help.
Prospective buyers can visit at the time of year they expect to live here, try the routes and activities that matter to them, and speak with organizations directly before making housing decisions.
How association boards can help
Offer a useful welcome packet with community-resource links and invite residents to share current public event information. Respect individual preferences and privacy; do not assume a person’s beliefs from their name, language, or background.
As a practical courtesy, consider major religious holidays when planning important meetings. Provide clear meeting notices and fair, consistent procedures for everyone. Ask association counsel about requests involving building rules, alterations, or accommodations.
Encourage respectful communication and respond to reports of harassment or threatening conduct through appropriate channels. Call 911 for an immediate emergency.
